The 50th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australian Rheumatology Association will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre from 17thto 21st May, 2008.
The program promises to be stimulating and informative with six international speakers and many from around Australia and New Zealand. In addition to the usual plenary and “Meet the Expert” breakfast sessions, Young Investigator’s Award and prizes for the best free papers and posters in clinical and basic science, new innovations include a Science Day embedded in the main programme, workshops and a new showcase of Australian achievements in Rheumatology, the Milazzo Oration. A special effort has been made this year to highlight original work.
The adult satellite meeting will held be at Victor Harbor- an idyllic spot on the coast an hour south of Adelaide. The theme of “Patient Registries: Unravelling Genetic and Environmental Factors in Rheumatic Diseases” will bring clinical and basic science researchers together to share their experiences in developing patient registries in a variety of rheumatic diseases and to demonstrate how to capitalise on the myriad of clinical and basic science research opportunities they offer. The Paediatric meeting will be held at the Clare Country Club, north of Adelaide.
Adelaide in May is a wonderful venue for a landmark Annual Scientific Meeting.
A cosmopolitan city, with beautiful architecture, parklands and cafes ideally placed between scenic hills and the sea, there is something for everyone, not just wine-lovers and foodies.
So we look forward to seeing you in Adelaide in May 2008 for some intellectual stimulation, renewing friendships old and new and celebrating the 50th ASM of the ARA.
